The JGC sings a kind of music known as "contemporary gospel", which means the merging of modern rhythms and sounds with melodies of the American gospel music, as well as with new musical themes of Christian inspiration.

The JGC prefers live performances, where the audience can enjoy both rich vocal harmonies and valuable solo singers blended into lively and original compositions.

The repertoire includes works of the most important writers of Contemporary Gospel like Richard Smallwood and Kirk Franklin, together with worldwide famous songs like Joyful, Joyful and the ever-present Oh Happy Day.
